Eaten & Told is a platform for telling stories through quality goods and culinary experiences curated by Melissa Gagné.
Melissa is fascinated by the experience of place and the products that connect people to these places. Having lived in six countries on three continents, her travels around the world have led to the collecting and sharing of food stories along the way. She has a M.Sc. in Tourism Management, a joint degree completed in Denmark, Slovenia, and Spain, where she researched and analyzed how people experience city spaces and pioneered research connecting urban studies and tourism. She has completed Level 2 at the Academy of Cheese, along with Mastering Chocolate Flavour and the Professional Chocolatier program at Ecole Chocolat.
After successfully hosting the first edition of Food Cinema (and one of the last events to take place in the Finlandia Hall), she offered themed bundles and local picnics, taking participants around the world through food with multiple local culinary partners and municipalities. Today, she curates a selection of high-quality chocolate bars and confections from around the globe, hosts sensory chocolate tasting sessions, and runs a cheese-of-the-month club in partnership with The Cheese Encounter. She also offers tourism consulting services.
Through these experiences, she has seen the power that food has in connecting people to place –– and to each other. She loves the thrill of the search and hopes these collected goods and hosted experiences will connect you to the people and places behind these food stories, too.
